LinkedIn have changed the design of their company pages-and we love it! The new page is more visual and makes it easier for users to access your company information including products, services, career opportunities, company news and insights.
Cover Photo:
We are using our LinkedIn company page as an example-come on over and connect with us! The most prominent design change is the “Cover Photo” which can help a company establish their brand identity on LinkedIn.
As you can see from the above screenshot we have used this opportunity to expose Linkedin users to our branding. The new LinkedIn cover photo size dimensions are: 646 x 220 px with a file size limit of 2MB. There are currently no restrictions on the design of the photo unlike Facebook, so you can add your website URL, promotions and special offers.
Products & Services:
Your product and services section can now be easily accessed by users on the top and side navigation bar on your company page. You can also add Products & Services to your company page. To add a new Product/Service click on the arrow next to the Edit button on your company profile and “add product or service”.
To fully optimize your company page to be found for these services ensure you use a suitable description and features. See the example from our company page below:
Careers Tab:
You can also showcase your career opportunities and current employees within your company. Keep this updated to help your company profile get noticed by users.
News Update Section:
The content you share with LinkedIn users is now more visible. The new design is longer so more older posts can be seen. Users can interact with your company more easily with the new comment box appearing on the same page if the “comment” button is pressed under a news update.
Company Information:
Your company information is no longer limited to 300 characters and is seen by users as one single block. It is also now located at the bottom of your company page below news updates. So, it is important to keep your company news up-to-date and post content regularly as this will be the most visible section to LinkedIn users.
So while the new design of LinkedIn company pages aren’t too different, it enables companies to build their brand on LinkedIn and customize their pages to stand out differently to their competitors. We can also look forward to more changes in the year as LinkedIn have announced they are all just getting warmed up.
